Abi Heath

Clarinet
Abi is a final year undergraduate student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studies with Joy Farrall, Andrew Marriner and James Burke.

Having begun learning the clarinet aged 7 after being told she would want to play a louder instrument than the flute, Abi has gone on to play with various ensembles, discovering her love of collaborative playing. Having been a member of a number of chamber groups, her current focus is on the clarinet trio she plays with on a regular basis.

Alongside orchestral and chamber music performance, Abi works in the community on a regular basis, making music and theatre more accessible to those who are less able to experience it. This work took her to Brazil for a month this summer, where she worked with the registered charity, The Wind-Up Penguin Theatre Company, taking a self-devised musical theatre show to children in deprived areas.

When she is not playing the clarinet, Abi can be found careering around a course of show jumps on her naughty horse Dimitri, or spending her student loan on un-needed clothes and hipster coffees.
